Queensland Government Offices – Thursday Island
Grid Connected PV System
Tropical Energy Solutions designed and installed a 30kWp Photovoltaic (PV) solar system for the Queensland Government’s Thursday Island office building, to compliment the building’s energy efficient objectives.
The system is connected to the local diesel generator operated grid and includes 150 solar modules and three 10kW inverters.
Located on a remote tropical island, this project required expert project management skills to ensure it was delivered on time, within budget and to the high standards expected by the client.
This solar system supplies the majority of the power required by the building during business hours and can export energy back into the grid when the building is unoccupied on weekends and holidays.
Exported electricity is sold back to electricity provider at 44c/kWh to help our client off-set electricity costs.
