Boodjamulla Remote Area Power System (RAPS)
The ranger station at Boodjamulla National Park accommodates around seven staff and has workshop facilities for park maintenance.
Prior to Tropical Energy Solutions’ refurbishment, the site had a 13 year old Remote Area Power Supply (RAPS) system which was becoming increasingly unreliable.
Throughout the refurbishment, Tropical Energy Solutions tested the existing solar panels, added additional panel arrays, replaced over six tons of batteries, installed a new generator, and extended the existing grid.
The ranger station now has a reliable power source, which is much more efficient and environmentally sustainable than the previous power system.
Tropical Energy Solutions also designed and delivered an additional 12kWp solar system to power the national park’s office building.
